We opened packs until we completed the new Panini World Cup 2022 Adrenalyn XL card collection, with the aim to find out how many packs it takes to complete the collection and how much it costs.
How many packs did it take?
After 413 packs, we finally found the final card we needed which was the Top Masters Neymar JR cards. That meant we had to open a total of 9 boxes of packs.
The final base card that we needed, Idrissu Baba from Ghana, was found in box number 7; and it took us 3 boxes of packs to find all of the England cards.
How much did it cost?
To complete the full collection it cost a total of £743.40! This figure is actually cheaper than the amount it cost to complete the World Cup 2018 sticker collection as predicted by a mathematician.
Of course, this is not how much it will cost most people. By swapping with friends or buying the last cards that you need to complete the collection, that can save a lot of money.
After 3 boxes we only needed 34 cards to complete the collection. Purchasing 34 cards from www.solvecollectibles.com would cost between £20-30 depending on the cards you need; meaning that the collection can be completed for under £300.
About the collection
The collection includes a total of 495 cards and includes players from 29 national teams that have qualified for the World Cup 2022 and another 6 teams that are contending for a place in the tournament.
Each national team has 8 hero (base) cards and a team crest. There are rarer cards in the collection that includes Power cards (Titans, Magicians and Goal Machines), Gold cards (Game Changers and Top Keepers), World cards (Rookie and Legends) and Rare cards (Top Masters). There is also an Invincible card and Limited Editions that can be found from packs.
The highest rated Hero card is Kylian Mbappe and the highest rated card in the whole collection is the Invincible card.
Each packet costs £1.80 and includes 8 cards. Pocket Tins, Multi-sets, multipacks and mega boxes are also available to purchase. These other products include limited editions; of which there are 20!
